High-manganese wear-resistant steel is (HIGH MANGANESE STEEL) the best choice to resist strong impact, high pressure material wear and other wear-resistant materials, with work hardening characteristics unmatched by other wear-resistant materials. Under the effect of large impact or large contact stress, the surface layer of the high-manganese steel plate is work hardened, and the surface hardness is rapidly increased from HB200 to above HB500, thereby generating a high-wear-resistant surface layer, while the inner austenite of the steel plate remains good Impact toughness.

Chemical Composition

High manganese wear-resistant steel has a high carbon content, with a carbon mass fraction of wC=0.9%~1.45% and wMn=11%~14%. Because the high-manganese wear-resistant steel is very easy to deform by cold deformation, it is difficult to carry out cutting, so the high-manganese wear-resistant steel parts are mostly cast. But in 2002, someone in Shanghai developed and produced rolled steel plates with Mn13. The performance is much higher than castings and general wear-resistant steel.
